Annual Meeting of the AAR with sessions on Western Esotericism

The Western Esotericism Group of the American Academy of Religion is hosting three sessions at this year's annual meeting of the AAR in Chicago, 31 October - 4 November 2008.

The themes of the session are as follows:

1. Esotericism and the Visual Imagination

2. Visualization in Mystical and Esoteric Practice (co-sponsored with the Mysticism Group)

3. Sufism and Western Esoteric Traditions: Reciprocal Relations (co-sponsored with the Islamic Mysticism Group)
