I am a brazilian doctorate student of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Federal University of Minas Gerais) – UFMG. I’m a historian, and Master in History and Political Cultures by the post-graduation program of History of UFMG. My subject of research is the encounter of politics and magic, between the centuries XV and XVII. More specifically, in what ways the secret of magi dialoged and influenced the secret of princeps, by the hands of the figure of secretarium. At the masters, I studied the Steganography of Benedictine abbot Johannes Trithemius (1462-1516), as a magical tool designed to political endings. Now at the doctorate, I want to go further in the analysis of Trithemius’ works, and made a comparison with the works of Giambattista della Porta (1535-1615), about magic and secret.
